Hiking on Svínafellsjökull glacier in Skaftafell , Blue Ice Experience
Level easy; 2 hrs. walk on crampons. This walk takes us on to the Svínafellsjökull glacier tongue. Svínafellsjökull is a breathtaking outlet glacier of Vatnajökull glacier and the scenerey and views are simply stunning. We walk through a wonderland of ice sculptures, meandering through ridges and the deep crevasses of the glacier. At the outset of our tour an experienced guide teaches you how to use basic glacier equipment like crampons and ice axes, the required equipment for this tour.
Duration: 2½ to 3 hours in total, 2 hrs on the glacier using crampons
Departures: May 1st to September 15th: every day at 10:00 and 14:00.
Included: Guiding services, ice gear and safety equipment.
Note: Bring warm clothing, raingear and hiking boots. Hiking boots can be rented.
